Little girl has a classy Southern tea date with the officer who saved her life

"It was a tea party invite Rowlett Corporal Patrick Ray couldn't turn down."

In Rowlett, Texas, 2-year-old Bexley Norvell is celebrating the day Corporal Patrick Ray saved her life. And to make things even more adorable, the two sat down for a classy Southern tea party.

“I’m sure I’m probably gonna get a tea set or something,” Ray said.

On July 26, 2015, the officer saved the baby girl from choking on a coin. He describes the moment she was able to breathe again as “the most beautiful sound.”

“When I looked at her, I just saw these big blue eyes looking at me. It was almost like she was telling me, ‘I know you’re here to help me,'” Ray told CBSDFW following the incident.

Ray was wearing a body cam when he rescued Norvell, and it captured the moment he ran out of his car to save her life. Since then, he’s been in her family’s thoughts and prayers.
