Sorry, everyone, but we won’t be watching former first lady Michelle Obama or former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton glide across the ballroom floor on this season’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

According to US Weekly, both Clinton, who faced a brutal campaign against Donald Trump in 2016, and Obama, who is just getting a taste of freedom from the White House, turned down ABC’s offer to be on the ballroom dancing reality television show. Invitations had been extended to both women to appear on Season 24 of the show which premieres on March 20.

This isn’t the first time that “Dancing with the Stars” has asked or hosted a politician on the show. In 2009, former Republican congressman Tom Delay was a surprise contestant on the show, but he was forced to withdraw due to an injury. Then in 2016, former Texas governor and Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry appeared on the show, but his time on the dance floor was also cut short after he was the second contestant voted off the show.

A Democrat politician, on the other hand, has yet to appear on the reality show.

The show has also never featured a first lady. And, while Clinton hasn’t been too keen on showing off her dance moves recently, Obama has shown off her moves several times, and she just might have had a shot a winning it all and taking home the prized mirror ball trophy.

Maybe they’ll reconsider for a future season!
