“How I Met Your Mother” star Neil Patrick Harris crashed Monday night’s “Late Late Show” to confront host James Corden over the latter’s growing reputation as a Broadway show tune-singing double threat.

Interrupting Corden before he could start his monologue about acronyms, NPH challenged the Tony Awards host to a Broadway riff-off.

The two actors showed off their range, starting light before moving into emotional ballads and then onto more “sexy” songs. By the end of the contest, however, the two agreed to put aside their differences and perform a duet of “My Shot” from the Broadway hit Hamilton.

Regardless of their performances, when two actors with such talent go head to head in a sing-off, everyone in the audience is a winner.
