Many know Rita Wilson as being the wife of Tom Hanks. Others know her for being a survivor.

Wilson, 65, beat breast cancer seven years ago and recently posted a throwback photo of when she was on the cover of Health magazine. That magazine shoot and the interview took place two years ago and were just part of Wilson sharing her journey.

In the interview, Wilson said is now limiting alcohol consumption and gave up meat entirely after learning of her diagnosis. She is now said to be thriving in terms of her health.

Rita Wilson is Glowing

“Of course, my diet and alcohol consumption have changed because of what we know helps,” Wilson, told Health. “For example, a plant-based diet is much healthier for breast cancer — and (I have) only three to five glasses of alcohol per week. That is not a lot when you really get down to it, and so there’s a discipline that comes to that.”

“I’m healthy today. I am not going to take it for granted, and I’m not going to mess with it.”

Wilson recently released a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s Songbird via a duet with Josh Grobin.

A Talented Singer

Meanwhile, Hanks, 66, just keeps rolling along and is set to play Geppetto in a remake of Pinocchio, as we relayed here. He is also set to star in the comedy-drama A Man Called Otto, due out in December. Wilson serves as co-producer for that release.
