Following a much talked-about meeting with Trump at Trump Tower, Harvey revealed to reporters that his wife, Marjorie, already had plans for inauguration weekend. And what Mrs. Harvey wants, Mrs. Harvey gets.

He explained:

I’ll be turning 60 on Tuesday and my wife is taking me far away. So, I won’t be at anybody’s inauguration because my wife said no.

Though many criticized him for his meeting with Trump, Harvey revealed that he was acting on advice from President Obama’s farewell address to engage the other side.

“I think it’s important that we talk, and that’s the only way we’re going to unify our country. We’ve got to talk,” he said.
