Non-traditional wedding dresses are a thing-of-the-now. Demi Barnes’ self-made creation is no different.

The 15-year-old GCSE art student was assigned to make a wedding dress out of recycled materials for her final exam. At first, she was going to make it out of magazines, but she said that had no meaning behind it.

“I thought deeper about it,” she said, ultimately deciding to make the dress out of divorce papers.

“I thought it was quite ironic,” she said.

Ironic indeed.

After all was ripped and done, the dress took Barnes 10 hours to make. She modeled the style after dresses seen on the TLC show “My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.”
