The Rock’s Daughter Is All Grown Up And Going Into The Family (Wrestling) Business

Dwayne Johnson, famously known as “The Rock,” has one badass daughter. Simone, 20, is going all in with the family business. We’re not talking about Hollywood movies, though. Simone is about to make her debut as a WWE wrestler. And she recently announced her official WWE stage name, Ava Raine.

She’s following in the footsteps of her great-granddad, Peter “High Chief” Maivia, and granddad Rocky Johnson. Both were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. The Rock, of course, is a 10-time WWE world champion. That was his previous life before becoming a legendary movie star.

Dwayne once told Jimmy Fallon that his mind was blown by his daughter’s willpower. He expressed pride in her choice to join the family business, but also in her independence.

“First of all, what an honor that my daughter wants to follow in my footsteps but more importantly…  she actually wants to create and blaze her own path, which is just so important.”

Simone, or shall we say Ava Raine, is definitely holding up to her dad’s praise. In response to the internet trolling she’s received, the soon-to-be diva is unabashedly clapping back. Apparently, fans of her dad aren’t happy with her new moniker. Instead, they’re pressing her to choose a WWE name that gives homage to The Rock.

She’s having none of it.

“I probably sound like a broken record & hopefully this is the last I’ll mention this but I don’t understand why people being portrayed as separate individuals from their family name is such a heated topic. A name doesn’t discredit any prior accomplishments from any family,” she responded.

Ava Raine adds, “I could build my entire career around my father & people would still bash me anyway.”

She’s probably right and you’ve got to give props to the 20 year old for fearlessly paving her own path, regardless of her inspirations.

Simone recently changed her Twitter handle to @AvaRaineWWE, if you’re curious.

Simone “Ava Raine” Johnson joined the WWE for training back in 2020. According to USA Today, her debut is currently postponed due to a knee injury.
