We love a woman who knows what she wants!
In October, Emma Slater said “yes” to fellow “Dancing with the Stars” pro Sasha Farber when he asked her to marry him on live TV!
One day later, Slater showed off her gorgeous sparkler on Instagram.
It's 7am here and I am standing in my garden doing this. I can't believe that's my finger wearing the second most beautiful thing I've ever seen!! The sapphire in this literally changes colour in different lights, I've never seen anything like it, I'm so unbelievably in love with it! I've always been a coloured stone person, and I just can't believe this is my engagement ring (BTW the first most beautiful thing is also featured in this video 😍) @sashafarber1 #EshaEngaged #Sapphire #ILoveMyFiance 💍💍💍💍
“It’s 7am here and I am standing in my garden doing this. I can’t believe that’s my finger wearing the second most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen!! The sapphire in this literally changes colour in different lights, I’ve never seen anything like it, I’m so unbelievably in love with it! I’ve always been a coloured stone person, and I just can’t believe this is my engagement ring (BTW the first most beautiful thing is also featured in this video 😍),” she wrote with the video.
At the end of the clip, Faber sneaks up on her and gives Slater and the camera a quick “I love you!” So sweet!
According to PEOPLE, Slater picked out the colored sapphire during a shopping trip.
“She had gone shopping and picked it. I spoke to her sister and she told me and I went and got it,” Farber revealed.
Slater described the ring as “a dusty sort of rose” sapphire.
“It’s the same color as my mom’s ring,” she gushed. “I actually don’t like pink. I say it’s a wine color.”
The couple met eight years ago and started dating two years after their initial meeting. Farber admitted that he knew Slater was “the one” just a few short months after they met.
“We’ve been together five-and-a-half years. We bought a house recently and this feels like the natural progression. My mother said once that marriage should feel natural and not like a surprise. It should be expected because that’s when it’s right,” Slater said. “It’s already felt like I’ve been his fiancé and wife for years now. Apart from the heaviness of my arm [because of the ring,] it feels quite natural.”
They plan on being engaged for at least a year before officially tying the knot. Slater’s family lives in England, while Farber’s family is in his native Australia.
“We may have three weddings!” Faber joked to reporters.
