According to E! News, the British actor tweeted, then deleted a comparison of his rigorous workout to the work of firefighters on 9/11.
“Wow what a workout,” he wrote. “Had to run up flights of stairs and all I could think of were the brave firefighters climbing the twin towers on 9/11.”
The tweet was quickly met with backlash from angry followers and was screenshot prior to him deleting it.
Oh lame. He deleted it for some reason. Here's the best tweet ever. pic.twitter.com/EmBAlPXLZV

Sulkin later issued a follow-up statement in an attempt to clarify what he meant.

“So much respect for those who put their lives in danger to protect us,” he wrote. “& they run up flights of stairs with heavy gear on their backs. Puts everything into perspective. #respect.”

This isn’t the first time he has been controversial on social media. In 2015, Sulkin reportedly used the n-word in a Snapchat and later claimed he was hacked.
“Unfortunately my social media accounts were hacked yesterday and my phone was stolen,” he tweeted. “Things were posted to my account that I find appalling and unacceptable.”
Maybe he should stay off social media for a while.
