Before Sunday’s Indianapolis 500, the Indianapolis Zoo ran the Zoopolis 500. Former Indy 500 winner Tony Kanaan waved the checkered flag at the 36th annual event, Fox Sports reports.

The turtles were named for IndyCar races. Marco, named for Marco Andretti, won it going away and hurried (well, relatively speaking) down the slope to the plate of fruits awaiting him.

His namesake finished sixth in the Sunday race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
