If you want to adopt a cat from a shelter, there may be a few hoops to jump through.

Of course, those are only the metaphorical kind. At a shelter in Florida, staff set up the real kind in an obstacle course for one bored cat.

The Huffington Post reports the short course seen here was built for Petunia, a cat at Cat Depot in Sarasota. A scratching post just wouldn’t cut it.

“She immediately took to the course easily and would look forward every day to her time running through the tunnel and up and down the stairs,” shelter spokeswoman Lynn Rasys said. “Once she was finished, we would then encourage her to jump in someone’s lap and get petted. No swatting!”

The few among the hundreds of cats they adopt every year that seem really tightly would will get to run the obstacle course, Rasys said.
