Elephants are some of the world’s largest mammals. When they chase you, running is truly your only option. Lucky for this guy, these elephants are his friends — and chasing him is one of the frequent games this pair likes to play.

Activist Lek Chailert founded Thailand’s Elephant Nature Park in 1996. His goal was to create a rescue and rehabilitation center, providing a sanctuary for distressed elephants.

Chailert visits the park every day, but it is her husband, Derrik Thompson, who has a phenomenally playful bond with the elephants. The baby girl, Hansa, was particularly close to Thompson.

“Yesterday, she really wanted me to go swimming with her, and she was upset that I didn’t, and so today, I wanted to go swimming with her,” he explains.

Unfortunaly, Hansa passed away in 2015 due to elephant endotheliotropic herpesvirus (EEHV), a major cause of death among calves in captivity.

This video reveals a beautiful interaction between Thompson and his favorite little girl.
