If you’re as big a fan of George Strait as we are, then you’ve loved all of the great young country acts that have been covering his biggest and most popular hits in the days and weeks leading up to the Nov. 18 release of his newest collection, “Strait Out of the Box: Part 2.”

However, when Texas artist Kevin Fowler’s turn came to cover a Strait song, he dug way deep into the King’s catalog and came up with a true Texas swing song — “Right Or Wrong.”

Kevin and his band more than aptly offer up a toe-tapping acoustic rendition of the lesser-known song that George actually took to the top of the country singles chart back in 1984. And George’s version of “Right or Wrong” is actually a cover of Western swing icon Bob Will’s 1936 recording. It’s a cover of a cover!

Now, if you aren’t that familiar with Kevin, here’s a quick primer: This Amarillo native has been making music since the 1990s, releasing his debut album, “Beer, Bait & Ammo,” in 2000. Although predominately known in Texas, this country star has toured across the United States and internationally, and he recently released his eighth studio album, “Coming to a Honky Tonk Near You.” Well known for his wonderfully warm and rib-tickling hilarious personality, Kevin is a fan favorite in the Lone Star State, as well as Music City. You should check him out!
