Cassadee Pope hasn’t had a great week – she has had an amazing and life-changing week. From attending the Grammys to getting engaged, Cassadee had already been relishing all of the good stuff in her life when she got word on Feb. 16 that she and duet partner Chris Young had picked up an ACM nomination for their song, “Think of You.”

“It’s been surreal,” Cassadee told Rare Country hours after she received her third piece of good news this week. “I’ve wanted all of these things for so long. I mean, I’ve dreamed of going to the Grammys and wearing an awesome dress and I’ve dreamed of getting engaged. Heck, I even have a new puppy. It’s just been a phenomenal time both in my [personal] life and professionally.”

Of course, the timing of the nomination isn’t lost on Cassadee either. It was at the ACM Awards last year when Cassadee and Chris first performed the duet live.

“I think as an artist you are always hoping more will happen, but this time, I’m wanting to truly live in the moment,” says Cassadee, who exchanged early morning texts with many, including her mom and Chris. “Today I woke up and my fiancé was the first person to know that Chris and I got the nomination, so we have much celebrating to do. It’s a really fun time.”
