One member of Little Big Town fights back tears at the ACM Awards

It only made sense for Little Big Town to sing “Happy People” at the ACM Awards on April 2. The members of Little Big Town are some of the happiest people we know.

And the newest addition to the LBT family, Kimberly Schlapman’s baby girl Dolly, seems to be fitting right in. Backstage at the ACM Awards, Kimberly told Rare Country, “She’s already singing.” She then added, “She’s like… she was just made for us. It’s like she was always meant to be. She fits right into our little puzzle, and she’s perfect and precious, and I can’t stand being away from her and I’m about to cry.”

This was baby Dolly’s first trip to Las Vegas where Mom and her pals took home the ACM for Vocal Group and were part of the Video of the Year for “Forever Country,” but it was hardly her first time to travel. The infant traveled with her extended band family when they made the trip to Australia for the CMC Rocks music festival last month. While Las Vegas had been uneventful for the tot, taking the long journey Down Under may not have been as smooth.

When asked how the trip to Australia was, Auntie Karen Fairchild said, “A 17-hour flight is super fun.” But Mom Kimberly reminded us, “She kind of eats and sleeps and poops. That’s all for now,” to which Karen added, “That’s awesome on a flight.”

Of course, they all love Dolly and if you follow the members of the band on social media, that’s obvious.

Congratulations to Little Big Town on their newest mantle piece and their newest addition.
