“American Idol” alum Lauren Alaina turns up the heat in her latest video

Maybe it’s true that love can truly conquer all.

Because while it’s been somewhat of a rough road professionally since Lauren Alaina finished second to Scotty McCreery on “American Idol” back in 2011 and her singles have struggled, and vocal chord surgery back in 2014 even had her down for the count, the Georgia peach is back with a new song and an even hotter video.

And this time she is bringing her new boyfriend with her.

In the just-released video for her new song “Next Boyfriend,” Lauren’s boyfriend of three years Alex Hopkins plays the male lead in the video and even Instagrammed a steamy photo from the video shoot. Stunningly gorgeous in her knee high boots, the video is set like an updated version of a scene from “Footloose.” The skateboarding is a cool touch, too.

Maybe this is Lauren’s way of telling Hopkins he’s both her current AND her next boyfriend, or maybe this was a way to get a great actor at a great price.
