Autopsy confirms heartbreaking details about the death of Craig Morgan’s son

New details have emerged in the death of Craig Morgan’s son, Jerry Greer. The 19-year-old died in a tubing accident on Kentucky Lake in Humphreys County, Tennessee. According to “The Tennessean,” autopsy results show the teenager’s cause of death was accidental drowning.

A toxicology report shows that Jerry tested positive for marijuana and a low level of alcohol in his system at the time of his death. He was riding an inner tube behind a boat when the inner tube flipped and he went underwater on July 10 around 4 p.m.

He was wearing a life jacket, but he did not resurface. Jerry was still wearing the life jacket when his body was recovered on July 11 around 9 p.m.

Jerry is one of Craig’s four children. He had just graduated from high school and was hoping to play football as a walk-on at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia this fall.

Craig and his wife, Karen, recently attended a Marshall football game in celebration of Jerry’s life. They posted a photo on Instagram with the heartbreaking caption, “Last time I was on this field I was with my son, Jerry. Tonight we celebrate his life at the game and with the team that he loved. #Remember13”
