If you tuned into CBS on Jan. 18 to watch the 43rd annual People’s Choice awards, chances are you saw Blake Shelton’s acceptance speech when he took home top prizes for Favorite Male Country Artist and Favorite Album for his best-selling 2016 record, “If I’m Honest.”

It was then that the country crooner leaned into the microphone to tell his famous girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, that she was “the hottest date here tonight.”

That undeniable chemistry and electricity that the two sweethearts share is what makes us fall in love with them time and time again. And, with the Valentine’s Day holiday less than a month away, we can only imagine that they will share the kind of romantic date that us hopeless romantics can only dream of.

Well, it turns out that that’s actually not the case.

In fact, Blake admits that he’s a procrastinator when it comes to making plans for Feb 14. “I think she knows it’s going to be Valentine’s Day, so I can’t really surprise her with that,” Blake tells Entertainment Tonight, “No, I’m kidding. I don’t know. I’m one of those guys that’s always last minute, like, ‘Oh dammit. It’s here, it’s here!’ Get some flowers or something. I’m not good at planning surprises when it comes to Valentine’s Day, but we’ll definitely celebrate.”

He continued, “I mean, I won’t forget totally. I’ll just forget until the last minute.”

Despite his delay, Blake doesn’t have much time to come up with ways to charm Gwen on Valentines Day, as he’s got a busy schedule coming up. On Feb. 16, he will embark on his “Doin’ It To Country Songs Tour.” The trek includes openers, and “The Voice” mentees, Sundance Head and RaeLynn.
