As they nail me to this tree

Just know my Father waits for me

God, how can this be your will

To have your son and my son killed

Brad Paisley and Sara Evans sang these lyrics in their song “New Again” for the soundtrack to the film “The Passion of the Christ.” In the song, the two country stars take on the roles of Mary and Jesus through the lyrics as the pair’s flawless harmonies and emotionally charged delivery make this a favorite, particularly around Easter.

“The Passion of the Christ,” directed by Mel Gibson, focuses on the final 12 hours of the life of Jesus Christ.

The movie lays claim to three albums — the film’s official soundtrack of the original orchestral score, “The Passion Of the Christ: Songs” and “The Passion of the Christ: Songs Inspired By.”

“New Again” was included on the “The Passion Of the Christ: Songs,” an album that won a Dove award from the GMA (Gospel Music Association) for Special Event Album of the Year.
