The 49th annual CMA Awards was already off to a great start, as hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley had the audience in hysterics over their Star Wars parody that included the likes of Little Big Town, Luke Bryan and Darius Rucker.

Yet, the show really got started when country music superstars Eric Church and Hank Williams Jr. rocked their way through Hank’s new single “Are You Ready for the Country,” which is featured on his upcoming album “It’s About Time.” The album is set for release Jan. 15, 2016.

Thinking the song sounds familiar?

You are correct.

“Are You Ready for the Country” was written by iconic singer/songwriter Neil Young and previously recorded by Hank’s mentor Waylon Jennings.
