His live show has been likened to an “arena rock” spectacle, so it’s perhaps fitting that during a recent performance at The Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington, Eric Church spent more than 4 minutes paying tribute to a legendary rock band formed in nearby Seattle.

During his set, Eric and his tight band surprised the crowd with a cover of Pearl Jam’s No. 1 hit “Better Man.” And by the looks of it from this video, the country star had as much fun with it as his fans did. Just look at the huge grin on his face at the end and how he presses his hands together and bows to the crowd.

“Better Man” (not the current Little Big Town song of the same name) was included on Pearl Jam’s third album, “Vitalogy,” in 1994, as well as on a 2004 greatest hits set.
