It’s safe to say that Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman has never been interviewed via a mustard bottle until last week, when The Bobby Bones Show’s “Lunchbox” ambushed her at Whiskey Kitchen in Nashville.
After a brief story about her high school orientation (“I had to drink mustard”) and what she was going to have for lunch (“I think I’m going to try the fried chicken sliders”), Schlapman talked about her eating habits on and off the road. “I’m not a health freak,” said Schlapman, whose first cookbook “Oh Gussie! Cooking and Visiting in Kimberly’s Southern Kitchen” will be released on April 14. “I try to eat good, but I also like some good ole fried chicken.”
Alongside band mates Jimi Westbrook, Philip Sweet and Karen Fairchild, Schlapman will head back out on “The Pain Killer Tour” on March 5 with stops in Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee. It was also announced this week that the foursome will return to the CMA Fest stage at LP Field in Nashville this year alongside other high profile acts such as Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley and The Band Perry.
