Flashback to the time Katy Perry proved her country cred in a big way CMT

Katy Perry has always been a big Dolly Parton fan, so it’s got to be the thrill of a lifetime for her to be teaming up with Dolly at the ACM Awards. The two superstars will sing a duet on the show coming up April 3 on CBS, and Dolly says they’re working up a medley of her hits, “Coat of Many Colors” and “Jolene.” Talk about two very different song topics.

If we had our way, Dolly and Katy would dust off the country star’s late ’70s hit, “Here You Come Again.” As you can see from this CMT “Crossroads” clip, Katy has already covered that song as a duet with her pal, Kacey Musgraves.

Don’t they sound great?

News of Dolly’s upcoming performance with Katy Perry comes on the heels of her announcing a brand-new album and tour, titled “Pure and Simple.” We’ll keep you posted when Dolly announces more details on those projects in the coming weeks.
