From Miranda to Garth, it was a week of out with the old and in with the new in country music

Sure, not many artists are back on the road or in the recording studio yet, but even when it’s quiet in country music, there’s something going on! Rare Country’s 5 host Erin Holt is counting up this week’s big news stories, and it looks like a little bit of out with the old and a lot more in with the new. Plus, one country celeb had a near miss this week. Let’s check it out!

Starting with our No. 5 story, it would appear that Garth Brooks came under fire when it was rumored he would play President-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural concert and then seemed to bail on the show. Garth set things straight in his weekly “Inside Studio G” on Facebook Live. And if you’re a fan of Garth, then you’ll understand and appreciate the reason why! See what Erin has to say.

Christmas brought on an onslaught of country stars taking their relationships to the next level, but for Kane Brown, our No. 4 story, it was more a matter of letting his fans and friends know he was in a relationship. We’re certain hearts were breaking, but Erin has the scoop on this precious pair and we think you’ll be happy for them.

Our hearts stopped for a minute when we heard about our No. 3 story. Sweet and pretty little Savannah Chrisley from the hit USA Network show “Chrisley Knows Best,” was involved in a single-car collision and suffered a pretty traumatic injury to her neck. Fortunately, she’s expected to recover in a couple of months, but the incident didn’t pass without her father, Todd, having a few words for the family’s adoring fans.

NASCAR superstar Dale Earnhardt Jr. may have surprised many of his fans when he and his new wife Amy tied the knot on New Year’s Eve, but that’s it for surprises…for now. After the couple shared a shadowy shot from their honeymoon, the rumor mill began turning. What was it that had people wondering and tongues wagging? Erin has the scoop in our No. 2 story.

It’s time to move on, and that’s what Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are doing. The luxe home the couple shared in the Nashville suburb of Brentwood, Tennessee, has sold. Obviously, the couple was no longer occupying the residence, but when you hear the details on this palatial abode, you might have another idea of why they sold it. Who would want to clean it?

That was our top story for the week, and we’re moving on, too. Thanks so much for checking back in and be sure to look for next week’s Rare Country’s 5 when we look at more news in the world of country music.
