We haven’t heard about too many people who escaped 2016 unscathed. Whether it was something more public like a celebrity death or the election of a new president, or something private like a job loss or health scare, it seems that everyone was ready to tell 2016 to kiss off.
Jana Kramer certainly had her own personal issues to deal with. Unfortunately, in the life of a celebrity, personal issues are rarely dealt with in private.
The year started off on a high note. Jana gave birth to beautiful Jolie Rae in January with husband Michael Caussin by her side. Prior to announcing that she would participate in “Dancing With the Stars,” news broke that Jana and Michael had separated, and he was entering rehab for a sex addiction. Later came allegations that he had cheated on his bride and then, as her tenure on “DWTS” continued, we all learned the full story of her previous relationship with Michael Gambino that ended after he nearly beat Jana to death.
Through it all, Jana remained strong for her baby girl and a confident competitor on “Dancing With the Stars.” She was also the picture of grace, remaining silent as rumors swirled around her, and she stayed positive and hopeful when she spoke with the media.
Aside from an open apology to his fans and his family, Michael Caussin has remained out of the public eye. In fact, we are uncertain if he remains in rehab or if he has been released from the treatment facility. One thing that we do know is that up until New Year’s Eve, Jana was wearing her wedding band in an Instagram photo she shared with Jolie.
The next day, Jana shared another image on Instagram featuring multiple frames of Jolie’s year plus one of her with “DWTS” pal Laurie Hernandez. In her post, she wrote about becoming a first time mother and gently says that the experience has overshadowed everything else. She ends the post saying, “Whatever comes my way I’ll lead it with love, forgiveness, strength and confidence.”
It would be presumptuous on our part to assume that the message is a nod to her relationship with Michael, but it is full of hope and mercy. Our fingers are crossed that 2017 is filled with blessings for Jana. And maybe new music for us.
