During a much-anticipated show in Nashville, Kelly Clarkson tore the house down with her rendition of Bonnie Raitt’s “Love Me Like a Man” that had the audience screaming from their seats.

“I picked this song because I am dying to do a whole album of songs like this,” Clarkson told the crowd.

So, her fans received quite the shock when, just days later, Clarkson announced that she will have to take a break from touring, canceling six shows in Virginia, Florida, North Carolina and New Jersey.

“So bummed that I have to cancel some of my tour dates,” she wrote in a series of tweets on September 11. “This kills me, but doctors are saying I need to rest my voice! I can’t wait to get healthy and see y’all back on the road soon. I hate canceling and I am truly sorry to my fans that have been excited to see this show. Please know that I never cancel anything unless it’s absolutely necessary.”

It was just a few months ago that Clarkson began her “Piece by Piece” tour. She also recently surprised a concert crowd back in August that she was pregnant with her second child.
