New Artist of the Year: Kane Brown
There was a time when the country music world didn’t pay much attention to Kane Brown. The traditional country covers that he shared from the bathroom of his childhood home received merely a passing glance from the industry, with many silently wondering if a guy working at Target could make any sort of real impact within a music genre already filled with huge superstars with big-time contracts and impressive connections.

But then, the fans gave him a chance. They gave him a listen, and they fell in love.
And the rest they say is history.

Rare Country was one of the first media outlets that began to see the Kane train coming down the tracks back in 2015, as countless fans began alerting us to the kid with the crazy cool country voice.
And now, just a couple short years later, Kane finds himself at the top of the Billboard Top Country Albums chart with his self-titled debut album and a Top 10 album on the Billboard 200.

Oh, and he also has something else — Kane has now been voted in by the fans as New Artist of the Year in the inaugural Rare Country Awards.
You see, the fans were right all along. Kane has a God-given voice paired with a humble personality and a true respect for the country music of yesteryear. And because of that, no one deserves this award more.
