This Texas country star just got quite the gift from the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders

Whether you give two hoots about Friday night lights, Saturday tailgating or even the Super Bowl, you probably know who the Dallas Cowboys are. And you may know Tony Stewart better than Tony Romo, but one thing that most people can identify at a glance is that Dallas Cowboys cheerleader uniform. It’s iconic with its belly-baring short shorts and tied-up blouse with the star-embellished vest and awesome white cowboy boots. Oh, those boots!

How many little girls watched the Cowboys cheerleaders in awe, maybe even dreaming of being on the squad? From the looks of CMT’s “Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team,” quite a few did, and they aren’t even all from Texas.

Kacey Musgraves may not have dreamed of being a cheerleader, but growing up in Texas, she certainly knows all about the Cowboys cheerleaders. It’s no wonder she was thrilled to be invited to take part in one of their training sessions. And the girls were obviously thrilled to have her. A select group of the cheerleaders even choreographed a dance to her song “Blowin’ Smoke.”

But Kacey wasn’t just there as a celebrity. She was actually asked for her opinion from coaches Kelli Finglass and Judy Trammell as the candidates danced to Eric Paslay’s “High Class.” No pressure, right?

It was mostly fun, though, and Kacey came bearing gifts for the coaches in the form of boots from her Kacey for Lucchese collection. She didn’t walk away empty-handed either. She was genuinely blown away when the team presented her with authentic Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders boots. She couldn’t wait to try them out, immediately shedding her high heels and sliding the boots on. And hey, since she had the boots on, she even tried to learn a small part of a routine — sans booty shorts and the rest of the uniform though.
