It should have been a nice night of nice music and nice fans. But then again, there is always one that’s bound and determined to ruin a nice night.
Just ask country music nice guy Kip Moore.
During an Aug. 31 show as part of the Hilton Honors concert series, Kip was in the middle of singing his hit song “Hey Pretty Girl” when he couldn’t help but notice what sounded like a pretty drunk fan yelling from the audience.
“Say what?” Kip asked, as the fan continued to yell a bunch of drunken mumbo jumbo. “A long time ago, I would do something right now, but we’re cool.”
Kip did, in fact, keep his cool, so much so that he went right back to finishing his song. And yes, it’s this cool attitude that can be heard in all of Kip’s music, including the cuts on his five-track EP “Underground,” set for release on Oct. 28.
“The problem I often face is leaving behind some songs, because I never stop writing,” said Kip in a press release about the new EP. “I write so many that some never see the light of day. I’ve been working on a full record, which looks to be coming out in late spring, but everywhere we go the fans keep asking for the recordings of these underground songs that they’ve been hearing for the last few years. They’re a passionate fan base so I decided to ask my label if I could record these songs live and give them the raw recordings. These songs are completely separate from the new record I’ve been making, I simply made this EP for the true fans.”
