If there’s one thing about a Kenny Chesney show, it’s that you never know what’s going to happen.
At the end of 2012 when he was putting together his No Shoes Nation Tour for the following year, he included a little-known singer named Kacey Musgraves in the lineup. Her debut single “Merry Go Round” had just been released, but her debut album “Same Trailer, Different Park” wouldn’t see the light of day until the following March. For all he knew, that album could have stiffed.
But it didn’t matter because Kenny dug her.
In March of 2013 when the tour kicked off in Tampa Bay, Kenny brought Kacey out during his set to help him sing his most recent No. 1 song at the time, “Come Over.” When Kacey walked out on stage, she appeared almost shy and hesitant singing alongside Chesney. She shook it off soon enough however, loosening up and reaching for Kenny’s hand as they walked to the part of the stage that protrudes into the crowd.
As the music played, Kenny and Kacey exchanged glances at each over and got more and more flirty as the night went on.
