You look at a guy like Dierks Bentley and his family, and you just seem to have an idea what holidays are like in their household. Probably some meat on the grill and presents under the tree and Christmas music playing from some of country music’s biggest superstars.
Guess again.
“Growing up in Arizona, my parents loved The Beach Boys, randomly so,” Bentley told Rare Country during a November stop in Chicago. “Every Christmas, it was always The Beach Boys on vinyl spinning around, so it’s hard not to have Christmas without The Beach Boys Christmas album playing.”
But not all hope is lost, country music fans. Bentley also loves the sweet melodies of another certain music maker around the holidays. “Alan Jackson also put out a great country Christmas album,” Bentley added. “It’s a great one.”
Well, that’s better.
And once Christmas is through, Bentley’s thoughts will turn to 2016 in which he will join Luke Bryan to host the ACM Awards come April.
“I’m excited to announce that I’ll be joining my friend Luke Bryan to co-host the 51st ACM – Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday, April 3, 2016,” Bentley announced on his Twitter and Facebook accounts.
