During Monday’s taping of his TBS talk show, Conan O’Brien got serious for a moment to remember his friend and frequent guest, David Bowie.

Bowie, who helped change the landscapes of music and fashion throughout his storied life, passed away on Sunday, leaving legions of fans stunned, including the always cheery O’Brien.
“He was on our show several times over the years, and the man was always outstanding,” Conan said.
“In my experience he was an incredibly nice person, he was fun, and he was always funny.”
With that, Conan introduced a clip of the many times Bowie appeared on the show, reminiscing on happier times.
