It’s now up to you to decide if you want to eat one.

A video of how the McRib magic happens was first posted by YouTuber Stephen Patula, a McDonald’s kitchen worker who regularly posts about how stuff at the fast-food behemoth is made. Clips from that video then went viral.

Be Careful When Ordering a McRib!

It begins with Patula putting a bun in the toaster, pulling it back out, then topping it with pickles and onions. After that, he places a sauced patty on the bun and the entire thing in a package.

This has grossed out some, for sure. But others have defended the process as nothing more than a typical day in a McDonald’s kitchen. The McRib isn’t made any differently than anything else, those who defend the sandwich say.

McDonald’s announced the reintroduction of the McRib officially on its website in the middle of October. It only will be available until Nov. 20, and McDonald’s is calling it the McRib Farewell Tour. In other words, the sandwich could be retired for good after its current run.

“The McRib is back!” McDonald’s announced. “It starts with seasoned boneless pork dipped in a tangy BBQ sauce, topped with slivered onions and dill pickles, all served on a toasted homestyle bun. When everything combines you have BBQ pork sandwich perfection. Get one while you can because this is the McRib Farewell Tour.”

In the event you’re unfamiliar, the McRib is a boneless pork patty that’s shaped like a small rack of ribs. It consists of barbecue sauce, onions and pickles and is served on a 5.5-inch roll. It first made its debut in 1981 and lasted as a regular menu item until 2004. Since then, it’s been brought back periodically.

Now, seeing how it’s made can help you make the all-important decision on if you should give it a try.
