On Monday night, Birbiglia stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to talk about the Oscars and the trials of fatherhood.

Both Kimmel and Birbiglia have daughters. While Kimmel’s daughter is older, Birbiglia revealed that it took him a little while to have children. He joked that “my boys don’t swim, which isn’t surprising since I don’t swim, or I swim but in circles and I’m always ordering hot dogs on the side of the pool.”

Birbiglia’s Netflix special, “Thank God for Jokes,” will premiere on the streaming platform at midnight on Tuesday.
