Sarah Michelle Gellar is making her voice heard, calling out Howard Stern. The actress said Stern once claimed that her marriage to Freddie Prince Jr. wouldn’t last. “@HowardStern what do you think?!?” Gellar captioned several screenshots on her Instagram Story. The images were from an interview back in 2001 that featured Stern and Freddie Prince Jr.

During the interview, Stern went on to bet $1 million that the Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress and Prinze would get a divorce. But, jokes on him as the couple recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. In another slide, the actress jokingly added, “@HowardStern I think you owe us.”

The interview took place a year before Prinze, 46 and Gellar, 45, officially tied the knot. Stern had boldly asked the actor, “So you will marry Sarah Michelle Gellar even though you know that it won’t last?”
Prince immediately responded, “Oh, absolutely it will last.” We love a man with confidence.

“You think you know everything?,” Stern asked as Prinze responded, “No, I don’t.” The radio host went on to say, “You think [you’re] gonna know how you feel at 35? You’re gonna be a completely different man.”
But, Prinze doubled down saying, “And she will be a completely different woman but that’s all right.” Stern chuckled, replying, “I wanna make a written bet with you. In about 10 years, you’re gonna hunt me down and go, ‘Howard, I owe you money.’” to which Prinze nodded in agreement.
20 Years of Marriage
On their wedding anniversary, Prinze also joined his wife, jokingly reposting the interview in his Instagram story, captioning it, “She will not forget.” Take that, Stern.
Gellar and Prinze met on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer in 1997. But, they didn’t begin to start dating until three years later. The couple officially said “I do” in September 2002. They have two children together, 12-year-old Charlotte and 10-year-old Rocky. The actress celebrated the special day by posting several images of the two on their wedding day.
