Winds were so high that riders just standing beside their cycles were almost blown away by the wind catching the bikes. Considering that a bike is pretty far away from the ideal sail, the winds must have been no joke, However, there were laugh aplenty as the athletes went stumbling after their errant equipment. Fortunately, it seems that no one was hurt, as the race couldn’t seem to even get started.
Maybe they should reschedule.
