The Royal Guard are known for the stoicism, and they laugh at almost nothing. In fact, unless you’re storming Buckingham Palace, it’s just about impossible to get them to react.

But one street comedian (or maybe just a random tourist) wasn’t about to believe the hype. Instead, he took it upon himself to get the statuesque soldier to crack a grin. The comic started right in on the humor, and his bit was flawless:

“We were together in school, Kensington…he was never talkative, I remember in school, he used to sit by himself and read books. I was just this guy fooling around and having fun. You’d ask him questions, and he’d answer with his head, yeah, no, yeah, no. And by recess, you know, his mother always picked him up from school. He was that type of guy, until he was 20. His mother always picked him up from school.”

The guard was able to walk off his laughter, and having accomplished the impossible, the comedian disappeared into the London streets.
