Two days after his arrest, T.J. Miller gave one of the goofiest opening monologues we’ve ever seen YouTube Screenshot

Two days before hosting the Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday, comedian T.J. Miller was arrested for slapping an Uber driver after an argument about President-elect Donald Trump got out of hand.

And while he did manage to address a couple elephants in the room during his opening monologue, his arrest was not one of them.

From his bare-bellied entry to his mimicking chorus line, the “Silicon Valley” star, himself a nominee for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy series, was on another level of goofiness during his opening speech.

And though his riffs on Trump seemed to be his subtle way of addressing the Uber incident, Miller wasn’t about to let any controversy, no matter how big, get in the way of his signature brand of absurdism.
