Crying babies are one of the sounds that we never quite get used to. For most infants, the only way to cheer them up is to hand them over to their mother. However, one family discovered that it wasn’t a teddy bear or a pacifier that settled their baby–but a typewriter.

It seems that the sound of the typewriter’s keys seems to calm the infant, and the crying stops almost as soon as the child becomes fascinated with the machine. If this is any indication, this baby might grow up to be a wonderful writer. It would be interesting to see if she has the same reaction to Mozart.
