They say you can take bad marriage to the grave, but one woman has gone above and beyond all that. How else do you explain her decision to the word “adulterer” on her husband’s tombstone?

In all fairness, it appears that’s precisely how the late husband behaved, as the couple’s son explained, via The Sun.

“My father and mother had a very bitter marriage towards the end of his life, he had a long-running affair with another married co-worker and got her pregnant before he passed,” the son wrote.

“He was planning to leave mum, skip the country and move to Canada to start a new life with her.”

Oh, and the father’s mistress was pregnant at the time of his death, apparently the result of a sudden heart attack.

Once his wife became aware of all this, she requested her cheating husband’s gravestone be engraved with the following message:

“In loving memory of John Doe, son, husband, father and adulterer.”

The “adulterer” and wife were never divorced or even separated, and the couple’s son really has no issue with the message on the tombstone.

“I personally think it’s fine, that’s who he was,” the son wrote, via The Sun. “He was all of those things. And since it’s my mom’s plot, I can’t do anything.”

Moral of the story: You might want to think twice about cheating on your wife. After all, you may not just take it to the grave. You could end up taking it to all eternity.

Can you blame this woman for doing this? In all honestly, this man went out the easy way. He didn’t get to enjoy ruining him for the rest of his life, so she got her revenge the only way she could. A bit cold though, not putting his name on the gravestone. But hey, their problems not ours.

What do you think?
