The transition was confirmed by a representative to People.

“Anne Heche has been peacefully taken off life support,” statement simply detailed.

Heche had wrecked her vehicle into a garage at an apartment complex just over a week ago. She the was recorded speeding off and crashing into a house, which then engulfing both the car and house in flames.

She was immediately rushed to a hospital, where she has remained on life support. Heche was declared ‘legally dead’ on Friday but remained mechanically alive until a donor was found for her.

“Today we lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend,” the representative released last week.

“Anne will be deeply missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy. Her bravery for always standing in her truth, spreading her message of love and acceptance, will continue to have a lasting impact.”

How things got to this point?

Rumors had been circulating throughout Hollywood that Heche intended to die with this accident.

The LAPD told TMZ last week that Heche had her blood tested and “in addition to cocaine, they also found fentanyl.” Fentanyl can sometimes be used as a pain med in hospitals, and it’s not yet been revealed exactly when Heche tested positive for the drug.

Her ex-husband, Coleman “Coley” Laffoon, shared his tribute to the late actress. He also gave an update on how Homer Laffoon — their 20-year-old son — is coping with the loss.

“I loved her and I miss her, and I’m always going to,” he said on his Instagram Reel, adding: “Homer is okay. He’s grieving, of course, and it’s rough. It’s really rough, as probably anybody can imagine. But he’s surrounded by family and he’s strong, and he’s gonna be okay.”

Heche had several projects in the works, with her upcoming Lifetime movie Girl in Room 13 set to premiere Sept. 17. Lifetime has indicated that it will not change the release date.

  1. I will say it again! Can you not find anyone who speaks English as their primary language, to write these articles! They were not looking for a donor! Anne would be the donor! They would be looking for a recipient! These are painful to read!
