Leave the expensive beauty products on the shelf; one item can shrink pores, soothe razor bumps and clean your scalp — and it’s probably already in your pantry.
Apple cider vinegar is a natural anti-fungal, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. It has dozens of cleaning and beauty uses; here are a few of them.
Itchy skin: Pour one cup of apple cider vinegar into your bathwater to reduce the winter itch.
Hair product buildup: Mix five drops of apple cider vinegar with cold water. Apply to your scalp after rinsing out your shampoo and conditioner.
Face mask: Mix one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar with one teaspoon of bentonite clay to treat blemishes and balance your skin’s pH.
Tighten pores: Add a few drops of apple cider vinegar to your hand, face or body cream.
Homemade toner: For oily skin, mix apple cider vinegar with water, then apply to your face before putting on makeup.
Razor bumps: Dip a cotton ball into undiluted apple cider vinegar; apply to the bumps.
Smelly feet: Mix one cup of apple cider vinegar and four cups of water. Soak your feet for 15 minutes.
You can also use apple cider vinegar to gently and safely clean your makeup brushes.
