Perry, on the ‘Life Will Be the Death of Me with Chelsea Handler’ podcast, noted that life can sometimes come in waves, or stages. She noted that one’s 20’s can be egocentric, and 30’s often focuses on career paths. But having a child changes everything, where all of a sudden, the only concern is that little bundle of love looking at you and communicating the “food” signal.

“My daughter has reshaped my life, my perspective… when she came it was like, ‘I love you. For no reason. Just because you are.’ I was like, ‘What? And you don’t need anything from me? Other than some food?’”

Perry noted that becoming a mom helped her with her mental health. The superstar has been outspoken and candid about mental health for quite some time. She’s talked about depression, struggling with her identity, and having suicidal thoughts.

Perry’s daughter, Daisy Dove, helps keep things in perspective.

“When I am with her, it’s quality, and it’s present, rather than trying to juggle everything all at once. That’s really changed me. I think I am also getting my first dose of unconditional love, which always helps my mental health.”

Perry has noted that her daughter Daisy Dove has qualities from both her and Bloom.

Let’s raise a glass to the superstar, for living life to its fullest. This includes becoming a mom, all the diaper changes, and whatever else life has in store.
