Believe it or not, this lovely window bench actually began its life as a bookshelf Mommy Vignettes
(Mommy Vignettes)

If you’re lucky enough to live near an IKEA, there’s a whole world of DIY furniture possibilities in front of you.

The Swedish company’s basic pieces seem to be tailor-made for crafts. From the mirrored nightstand to the mosaic side table, we’ve tried an array of them.

But this one from Mommy Vignette is our new favorite.

It takes an IKEA shelving unit (either Expedit or Kallax, depending on what’s in stock) and turns it into a lovely widow bench, perfect for a bedroom or living area.

Best of all, you don’t need to be handy with a needle to put this one together. There’s no sewing required!

Once it’s assembled, the bench doubles as seating and storage. Find the full tutorial at Mommy Vignette.
