Cooper, 47, and Abedin, 46, quietly began dating a few months ago after Wintour — who is friends with both — played matchmaker. Cooper started dating Abedin after he broke up with Glee actress Dianna Agron, Page Six reported.

Cooper has a daughter from his relationship with partner Irina Shayk, which lasted from 2015 to 2019. Abedin, a former top aide to ex-U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, separated from disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner in 2017.

Abedin’s personal life became tabloid fodder after Weiner was imprisoned for 21 months for sexting a 15-year-old girl.

She told The Guardian in an interview published in late May that she had begun dating again.

“Dating apps are intimidating,” Abedin said. “I’m trying to stay open, but dating is terrifying, which also makes it exciting. I believe in love – I had it, I know what it felt like, I’d love to have that feeling again.”

Cooper is currently working on the new Netflix film Maestro, which started production in late May and co-stars Cary Mulligan. He is directing and co-wrote the screenplay for the biopic of the life of famous composer Leonard Bernstein and his marriage to Felicia Montealegre.

Maestro — produced by Cooper, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, and Todd Phillips — is scheduled for release on Netflix next year. It recently started generated buzz after spotted Cooper locking lips with co-star Matt Bomer as they filmed on set in New York City.

Although it’s currently unclear what role Bomer will play in the Maestro story, the scene itself was no surprise. Bernstein, who most famously composed the music for West Side Story, was openly gay.
