You will need:
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1¼ cups semisweet chocolate chips, divided
- ½ cup + 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons Dutch process cocoa powder
- 2 egg whites
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¾ cup flour
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon water
- ¾ cup dark chocolate chips or melting wafers (optional)
