When we slice a round cake, we usually cut into it from the sides.

But when the piece is removed and the inside of the cake is exposed to air, it begins to go stale.

Next time you want some cake, cut into the middle, as the video shows. Once the slice is removed, push the pieces back together. This prevents air from getting in and turning the cake into a stale, crumbly mess.
