It seems McDonald’s has just about everything on the menu, except donuts.

But fear not, fast-food-loving public, that’s all about to change.

And in the world of McDonald’s, it’s become a case of “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.” Or at the very least, “even if you do beat ’em, they still have something we’d like to offer.”

So McDonald’s is teaming up with Krispy Kreme to offer the world (or at least select locations) some donuts.

And they won’t be donuts that have been sitting around for a few weeks. These will be fresh, as Krispy Kreme will deliver them each morning to participating locations. Options include either glazed, chocolate with sprinkles or raspberry filled.

“McDonald’s is always looking for ways to give our fans more of what they crave, and we often conduct tests to inform future menu decisions,” McDonald’s officials said in a statement. “This small-scale test will help us understand how offering new bakery items like Krispy Kreme could impact operations in our restaurants.”

Coffee? Egg McMuffin? Hash browns? Donuts? McDonald’s now has it all.

The fun begins Oct. 26 in Louisville, Kentucky, when nine area McDonald’s restaurants will give the whole donut thing a test run. Let’s hope it lasts for those of you who enjoy fried bread with sugar on, in and around it. And who doesn’t?
