Honey Boo Boo Set For Surgery, Plans To Shed Half Her Weight

Honey Boo Boo has had it with her weight, and she fully intends to do something about it. As in, she’s gonna have surgery.

The reality star, born as Alana Thompson, has scheduled the surgery for August, after her 17th birthday.

Per TMZ, she will receive a suture sculpt endoscopic sleeve from weight loss doctor Steven Batash, which will run about $13,000.

“Thompson reportedly weighs 275 pounds and is looking to drop to 150 after various diets didn’t give her the results she wanted,” the New York Post reported. “The TLC star is concerned her weight is genetic and believes surgery is the only way to reach her goals.”

At least she won’t be alone. Her boyfriend, Dralin Carswell, will be undergoing the same surgery at the same time.

“Thompson and Carswell, 20, have been dating since mid-2021 but didn’t make their relationship Instagram-official until the end of September,” the Post wrote. “In a Teen Vogue profile published in August, Thompson heartbreakingly shared that she doesn’t have any friends besides her boyfriend.”
