McDonald’s is bringing back a spooky item just in time for the spooky season, offering Happy Meals in Halloween buckets.

That’s right, McBoo, McPunk’n and McGoblin have returned, and their frightening faces will now adorn buckets used for the popular kid’s meals. Oh, and they also can be saved and used for when kids go trick-or-treating.

The buckets were first introduced in 1986 but had been on a six-year hiatus. They again will be available nationwide beginning Oct. 18.

The pails are quite different now than when they first debuted nearly four decades ago. They originally were all orange with jack-o’-lantern designs, but have evolved into the three colors and faces you can get now.

Per Today:

“The ideas come from TikTok accounts @sidclusive, @beatsbyjblack, @saracampz, @themartinezcasita and @laurdiy. The content, which lives on TikTok, shows the creators using the pails as Halloween décor, as houseplant receptacles, to complete outfits and even to as percussion in recorded music, assuring that you have plenty of avenues to take with your pails once the fake cobwebs come down on Nov. 1.”

Of course, what’s been left unsaid in all of this is whether McDonald’s will bring back their creepy commercials that touted the pails — including some spooky singing McNuggets.

There is also no word on if the Happy Meals placed inside these buckets will be made by your, uh, mummy.
